I took my love, I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
Till the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Well, I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older and I'm getting older too

The Heart of Life Is Good

Whoever doesn't like John Mayer needs to get out.

Seriously, that man is genius. I knew some of his songs growing up, but it wasn't until the summer before my junior year that I started listening to a giant, "John Mayer" playlist on my iPod that I had ignored for too long.

I became obsessed in June and could not stop listening to him. So good. That summer, he was also conveniently coming to town. Natalie and I went and it cemented my obsession into me thinking I'm a close confidante he's never met.

Honestly, if you can't appreciate him in some way, we just can't be friends. At the same time, I'm secretly fiercely protective of who's allowed to listen to him. Like a really confused hipster.

Also, he's the #1 listened to artist on my iPod in case anyone cares.

Basically what I'm getting at:
Don't you dare call John a douche, insult his music, or really anything about him while I'm around. Seriously, just keep it quiet. I'll defend that man, probably too aggressively, until I die, I guess.

Looking to get into his music? Try these ten songs, in no particular order. In no way are these his ten best, but for today, they sound great to me.

1. Slow Dancing in a Burning Room
2. Stop This Train
3. In Repair
4. The Heart of Life
5. Victoria
6. Comfortable
7. Why Georgia
8. Bigger Than My Body
9. The Age of Worry
10. A Face to Call Home

Wow. That was hard. I feel like I just flew away in a helicopter while 100 starving orphans watched me leave.

Also, remember how I'm going to Montana on an LDS mission? Well, I am. John lives in Montana.

Assume the rest.

I WORSHIP JOHN MAYER. IN A SLIGHTLY CREEPY WAY.

"I believe that my life's gonna see the love i give returned to me."

You can say we’re done the way you always do
It’s easier to lie to me than to yourself
Forget about your friends, you know they’re gonna say
We’re bad for each other, but we ain’t good for anyone else

Awkward Me Here

Hi. The posts that seem semi-dramatic/sasha fierce status? They're just lyrics of songs that I obsess over. The artist and song title are in the labels. Expect more. And go look them up. Good songs, people. I won't lead you astray.

My Love Affair With Pokemon

They're everywhere. At your school, at the mall, maybe even in your own home.

Those darn kids that never got over pokemon.

They'll deny it, scoff it, even pretend they never heard of it. But deep in the safety of their own rooms, two inch thick "bibles" hide under their bed. Ok maybe just my bed.

Here's the thing folks. I'm slightly obsessed with Pokemon. I thought I was the only one who struggled with this problem for a lot of years. But as time went on, other people slowly came out to me. Yes, even girls (You know who you are).

Cutting the crap, I will continue to love pokemon for as long as my body decides to live. I own the first season on DVD and watch it on a regular basis. Ash is my hero. I literally know every pokemon's name. Every pokemon video game belongs to me. It's slightly embarassing. But it's just too fun to let by.

It all started in Kindergarten. Back seat of my trooper with friend from birth Jantzen Adams. He gave me my first pokemon cards *sniff* What a day. For so many years Jantzen and I would secretly play pokemon on weekends when other Junior High Kids were doing much cooler things. Like drugs probably.

"I want to be, the very best, like no one ever was. To catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause. I will travel, cross the land. Searching far and wide. Each pokemon to understand, the power that's inside."

Well I won't bore you any longer with those random themesonglyricsoffthetopofmyhead. . .

Sometimes, I dream that Pokemon are real, and that my life goal is to raise them and occasionally snuggle with a pikachu or two. Those are the best dreams.

Really though, it's just fun to feel like a little rascal all the time.

Please, if you are struggling with this, and need a pokemon marathon, or just someone to battle with, call me up (Please no hate phone calls though).

Well, now that I am the world's biggest nerd, I guess I'll go die now.

ps. Black and White version coming this Sunday
pps. I can't pick a favorite but if I have to it would be Charmander.
